Telenor celebrates 15 millionth customer in less than three years

17 Jan 2008

Telenor Pakistan has announced that it added its 15 millionth customer – a landmark it has achieved in less than three years of operations. In 2007 the company’s subscriber base grew by nearly 200%, helping it to turn EBITDA positive in Q2 2007. Commenting on what has propelled Telenor Pakistan to achieve such performance in the face of intense competition, its CEO Tore Johnsen said: ‘Telenor Pakistan is obviously different from the competition. Our culture is different, our values are different, and our focus on business fundamentals is a little different as well. We are building core strengths and utilising them better than anyone else at this point I believe. Today we have the second largest network with the largest GPRS and EDGE capability, the most diverse products and services, the fastest growing distribution, and one of the strongest organisations in the industry. Telenor Pakistan is fully involved with its key stakeholders and trusted as a friend of the community.’
