17 Jan 2008

The government of Indonesia plans to cut cellular phone tariffs by between 10% and 30%, writes Thomson Financial citing a report in the Investor Daily. The country’s information minister Mohammad Nuh said the move would only have ‘a limited impact on phone operators’ earnings’. The ministry is currently holding talks with industry players on the planned cuts, but says the new tariffs will be put in place by the end of the month.
