Portugal Telecom (PT) has increased its ADSL broadband internet speeds. Entry-level download speeds for its SAPO ADSL packages has risen eight-fold from 256kbps to 2Mbps, with SAPO 2Mbps and 4Mbps services doubling in speed to 4Mbps and 16Mbps respectively. For TELEPAC ADSL subscribers, the existing 1Mbps download option has been quadrupled to 4Mbps, while existing 4Mbps customers now get 8Mbps, and 8Mbps users can enjoy 16Mbps; the SAPO and TELEPAC 24Mbps packages remain unchanged. PT is also offering promotional discounts of between EUR5 (USD7.35) and EUR10 per month across its range of broadband packages until the end of March.
