Russian wireless broadband operator Synterra and France Telecom subsidiary Orange Business Services have agreed to jointly implement a WiMAX project, dubbed ‘Regional mini-networks WiMAX’ in 22 towns across the Moscow Region, reports CNews. According to the project terms, the WiMAX networks will be handed over to Orange Business Services enabling the operator to provide communication services under its own brand. In turn Orange Business Services will allow Synterra to use 10% of the networks’ capacity. Within two months Orange Business Services plans to choose a WiMAX 802.16e technology supplier through testing and determine the priority towns in which to launch the new networks. TechnoServ A/S is responsible for project system integration.
