Tele2 ups stake in Dutch unit to 98%

Swedish pan-European alternative operator Tele2 has purchased an additional 19% stake in its majority-owned Tele2 Netherlands Holding unit for USD175.1 million, increasing its overall holding to 98%. Tele2 is one of Europe’s biggest alternative telecoms operators with over 30 million customers in 22 countries. It serves as a fixed line telephone operator, CATV provider, mobile operator, broadband provider, ISP and a content provider. It offers services in the Netherlands under the Tele2 (residential) and Versatel (business) brand names.
