11 Dec 2007

Ukrainian mobile operator Astelit (life:)) has expanded its EDGE data transmission coverage to twelve new cities: Pavlograd and Novomoskovsk (Dnipropetrovsk region), Melitopol and Energodar (Zaporozhye region), Chuguev (Kharkiv region), Kotovsk (Odessa region), Zhmerinka and Mogilev (Cherkasy region), Kolomyya (Ivano- Frankivsk region), Konotop (Sumy region), Alexandria (Kirovohrad region) and Novovolynsk (Volyn region). The rollout adds to the existing life:) EDGE footprint covering all regional centres, the Crimean coast and resorts in the Carpathian region, enabling over 50% of the population to send and receive data up to five times faster than using GPRS.
