NHH says broadband subs up, landlines down in October

At the end of October 2007 Hungary was home to 1.11 million broadband subscriptions, up from 1.09 million at the end of September, according to data published on Friday by the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH). Of the end-October total, 721,000 were ADSL lines, up 1.1% on the previous month, and 389,000 were cable internet subscriptions (+3.3%). Meanwhile, the number of main lines in service dipped 10,000 to 3.266 million in October from September, the NHH said. Fixed line teledensity stood at 32.48% by end-October, down from 32.58% in September, according to figures compiled from the country’s biggest telcos.
