3 Ireland claims 40,000 mobile broadband users

9 Nov 2007

Ireland’s sole 3G-only mobile operator 3 Ireland says it has signed up around 40,000 3G mobile broadband subscribers since launching its service earlier this year. The company has also moved to address coverage and connection problems with the service, SiliconRepublic.com reports. The cellco has received numerous complaints over the summer, but claims these problems have now been resolved. 3 Ireland has close to 88% 3G coverage across the Republic according to the telecoms regulator ComReg.
