19 Oct 2007

US equipment vendor Motorola has built a pilot WiMAX network in Paris in partnership with Bollore Telecom, a company which holds a dozen licences to offer WiMAX services in France. The pair will use the test network to design and assess performance with a view to introducing new wireless broadband services in the country. Bollore Telecom’s 802.16e-2005 standard WiMAX network operates in the 3.5GHz band and is already live.
