Vodafone considering IPTV

16 Oct 2007

Vodafone Portugal is considering launching an internet protocol television (IPTV) service, allowing it to enter the country’s digital terrestrial TV market and offer customers an improved bundle of services. Vodafone has already expanded from its core business of cellular services, introducing ADSL-based broadband internet connections and fixed line voice services. The cellco’s CEO, Antonio Coimbra, is quoted by IPTV Watch as saying that there is ‘a good chance’ that Vodafone will enter the IPTV market in 2008.
