Celtel aims for 90% coverage

Nigerian cellco Celtel, which had eight million subscribers at the end of June 2007, has said it intends to upgrade its entire GSM network to GPRS and increase coverage to 90% of the country by the end of this year. The announcement came at a sales promotion in Aba in the south-east of the country. No further details were given. Celtel is 65%-owned by Celtel International, part of Kuwait’s MTC Group.
