HSUPA on the way at Vodafone

Vodafone Portugal has launched a HSUPA-enabled version of f its Mobile Connect laptop/PC data card, designed to allow maximum upload speeds of 1.4 Mbps, four times faster than the uplink rate currently available on its 3G mobile network. The move comes ahead of Vodafone’s planned upgrade of its W-CDMA/HSDPA network with HSUPA technology next month. The new card also supports maximum download speeds of 7.2Mbps, and is priced at EUR129.90 with a twelve-month contract. At the end of this month, the cellco also plans to launch a new version of its wireless USB product Internet Connect Box that supports HSUPA, to be priced at EUR99.90 with a twelve-month contract.
