Craig Wireless to expand WiMAX presence

18 Sep 2007

Winnipeg-based WiMAX operator Craig Wireless Systems is planning to use funding from a recent private share placement to build its presence in Western Canada, and pursue new wireless broadband spectrum concessions around the world. The company holds spectrum in Manitoba, British Columbia, California (US) and Greece. Up to 80% of the approximately USD39 million capital from the placement has been earmarked to expand the company’s current WiMAX networks in Western Canada. Craig Wireless does not currently hold licences in Quebec or Ontario, but it plans to bid in a new frequency auction scheduled for next year.
