Wireless resellers require licences

14 Sep 2007

Jamaican utilities regulator OUR has given wireless resellers until 7 November to apply for licences or face paying a fine, writes BNamericas citing local daily The Jamaica Gleaner. According to the report OUR has made twelve reseller licences available for companies that currently lease capacity from the country’s main mobile network operators MiPhone, Cable & Wireless Jamaica, and Digicel. Failure to apply for a licence by the deadline could result in a JOD3 million (USD42,800) fine. Each license requires a JOD70,000 processing fee.
