Iliad’s Free jumps on the free unlimited music bandwagon

24 Aug 2007

French alternative operator Iliad (Free) has joined a growing list of companies lining up to offer customers free unlimited music downloads. From today, the company plans to offer unlimited access to music via the site, which includes a catalogue of hundreds of thousands of tunes. Iliad’s announcement comes hard on the heels of similar moves by neuf Cegetel and Orange France. Vivendi-backed neuf Cegetel is offering an unlimited download service from the catalogue of another Vivendi company, Universal Music, while Orange plans to offer free unlimited music downloads by the first half of 2008 with an even bigger music catalogue than that being proposed by neuf Cegetel.
