Vodafone to partner up for ‘asset-light’ DSL service

Vodafone Ireland’s chief strategy officer Gerry Fahy says the company is looking to enter the domestic fixed line DSL market via an ‘asset-light’ or partner-based business model, rather than look to acquire or roll out its own infrastructure. In an interview with siliconrepublic.com, Fahy confirmed that the cellco’s 3G wireless modems were ‘selling well’ and that the regulator, the Communications Regulation (ComReg), will most likely soon begin including HSDPA modem sales in its regular reports on overall broadband subscriber take-up.
