Sonaecom expects approval for Tele2, Oni purchases

Portugese alternative telco Sonaecom expects to receive approval from the country’s Competition Authority (AdC) for its takeovers of two domestic rivals, Tele2 Portugal and the residential/SOHO operations of Oni. The head of Sonaecom’s fixed line division, Pedro Carlos, told local daily Diario Economico that his company had already been informed of AdC’s decision, and hopes that the transactions can be closed by September, the units expected to be fully integrated by March 2008.
