Dutch incumbent KPN has revealed plans to launch its mobile Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld (DVB-H) service in the Netherlands to coincide with the start of the summer Olympics in Beijing. The new service will be offered over the company’s Digitenne DTT service. No details about packages, subscription plans or services have been released. KPN is the sole company licensed to provide DVB-H in the Netherlands although it is expected to wholesale its mobile TV service to the country’s other cellcos – Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange.
