Fourth mobile licence auction set for December

2 Aug 2007

Portuguese telecoms regulator Anacom has announced that it plans to launch a tender for a fourth mobile network operating licence in December this year. In a statement, Anacom said that the tender will be launched after a study into the 450MHz frequency to be offered, and added that it feels that the spectrum will only be able to support a single network. It also said that it is considering excluding existing mobile operators from the bidding process.
