ComReg accuses eircom of discrimination in network repairs

The Irish former monopoly is in trouble again after the regulator ComReg allegedly accused it of providing preferential treatment to its own retail arm eircom Retail compared to rival operators, when considering network repairs. Less than a week after it was under the cosh for alleged interconnect discriminatory practices, eircom has been told forcefully by the watchdog that it is required under the regulatory framework not to discriminate against other authorised operators (OAOs) with regard to interconnect services or repair services.
