eircom faces price cap

27 Jul 2007

Irish telecoms regulator ComReg plans to impose a price cap on the amounts eircom can charge for line rental from September. Following a consultation process, the watchdog says there should be a limit on the amount it can levy for its retail access services. The year-long price freeze comes into effect at the end of September. Once this expires, the price cap will be amended to take into account the rate of inflation. ComReg is looking to keep the current system in place until September 2010.
