KPN launches Option’s GlobeTrotter EXPRESS data card

17 Jul 2007

KPN Mobile The Netherlands has introduced Option’s GlobeTrotter EXPRESS 7.2 data card for use by business customers in the Netherlands. Offered under the KPN brand name ‘Mobiel Internet Kaart 720 or MIK 720’, the new device is being offered free to all business customers who subscribe to the operator’s internet ‘Flat Fee’ or ‘Flat Fee Comfort’ subscription plans. According to Option, its GlobeTrotter card offers backward compatibility with HSDPA connections at the operator’s current network data rate of 1.8Mbps in the downlink. However, Globetrotter will operate at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps once KPN has upgraded its network later this year.
