Personal’s WiMAX service powered by Redline

31 May 2007

Núcleo (Telecom Personal Paraguay) has chosen Redline’s RedMAX equipment range to power its ‘Hipuu!’ WiMAX service in the Paraguayan capital, Asunción. The cellco, owned by Argentina’s Telecom Personal, hopes to provide WiMAX services to ‘thousands’ of businesses and residents in the city, using network infrastructure that supports more than 250 users per base station. According to a company statement, RedMAX network equipment has already been deployed in Greater Asunción and will be rolled out to other areas of the country for corporate and residential customers. Alongside the development of the Personal Hipuu! service, the company announced it is continuing a social responsibility project, which includes the supply of free internet access and computer equipment to schools in low-income and outlying areas.
