ComReg awards new 1800MHz licence to Personal Broadband UK

The Irsh telecoms regulator, the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg), has awarded Personal Broadband UK a 15-year technology and service neutral-licence in the 1785MHz-1805Mhz band, reports Cellular-news. Personal Broadband UK won the concession in a recent auction held by the watchdog. The sale was the first of a two-stage process involving a joint licensing approach with the UK regulator Ofcom, which will launch the second phase for a similar licence in Northern Ireland. Persoanl Broadband UK will pay EUR205,000 (USD279,774) for the permit upon giving its formal acceptance of the terms and conditions of the award.
