Bourdex launches CDMA2000 1x network

20 Apr 2007

Nigerian operator Bourdex Telecom, which last August secured a unified service licence from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has launched fixed wireless and mobile services over a CDMA2000 1x platform, having upgraded its legacy AMPS network with the assistance of Canadian vendor Nortel. The infrastructure comprises base stations in 37 cities in nine states across the south and south east of the country, and the telco now plans to expand to other parts of the country.
