12 Apr 2007

Local newspaper This Day reports that Globacom is set to launch 3G services as soon as it receives the green light from regulatory body the NCC. The cellco is understood to have completed the payment for the licence last Friday, and according to Globacom’s Executive Director, Legal, Gladys Talabi, ‘3G has successfully been tested on our network by Alcatel. We are now ready for the commercial launch once we get the clearance from NCC.’ She added that Globacom will launch next generation services in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, while the capability would be extended to other parts of the country in the near future.
