Trio begin tests of VDSL in the Netherlands

11 Apr 2007

According to online news portal Telecompaper, local network operator BBned has teamed up with ISP InterNLnet and the higher education network SURFnet to begin trialling VDSL services. It is understood the four-month pilot in Diemen, Duivendrecht and Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, will offer downstream connection speeds of up to 40Mbps and 10Mbps upstream. BBned is so far the only network operator planning a VDSL trial alongside incumbent KPN, which is launching the technology as part of its IP network rollout.
