NCC cancels 450MHz spectrum auction

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has postponed its forthcoming auction of spectrum in the 450MHz band, just before the deadline for bid applications of 30 March. The auction was to have taken place mid-April. The regulatory agency has not given reasons for the cancellation, but it said in a press release that ‘a revised timetable will be communicated to interested parties in May 2007.
