CellularOne selects Axesstel 3G gateways

28 Mar 2007

Bermuda Digital Communications (BDC), which provides mobile services in Bermuda under its CellularOne brand, has selected Axesstel, a developer of fixed wireless voice and broadband data products, to supply it with MV420 (800MHz) 3G Gateways. Shipments are due to begin next month and be operational from May. The new gateways will provide CellularOne users with wireless broadband access at speeds of up to 3.1Mbps, by connecting to the operator’s recently launched CellularOne CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A network. Integrated with an 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi router, the MV400 series gateways offer laptop users wireless connectivity from any room in a home or office. The gateways enable easy set up of a local hotspot for a variety of applications in small business, enterprise, retail, public transportation, emergency response and other environments.
