KPN unveils new standards-based PTT service

9 Mar 2007

KPN has launched a new standards-based push-to-talk (PTT) service in partnership with Sonim Technologies, giving the former’s enterprise customers access to the Sonim XP1 ‘tough phone’ mobile phone to use as a walkie-talkie. The equipment vendor’s strategy is to help wireless operators across the globe recreate the success of Nextel in the US by introducing an OMA standards-based PTT system in Europe.
