Mobilkom upgrades to HSPA with Ericsson

Mobilkom Austria has awarded Ericsson a contract to expand and upgrade its high speed W-CDMA cellular networks in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia and Liechtenstein. Ericsson is supplying HSPA equipment which boosts download and upload speeds to peak rates of 14.4Mbps and 1.4Mbps respectively. The high speed upgrade has already been launched in the Austrian capital Vienna, and Mobilkom says its customers there ‘are now enjoying the fastest mobile broadband speeds available in Central and Eastern Europe’. Rollout for VIPnet in Croatia, Mobiltel in Bulgaria and Mobilkom in Liechtenstein will follow it says.
