ECI completes first phase of broadband project for Ukrtelecom

Israeli technology vendor ECI Telecom has completed the first stage of the rollout of a fibre-optic broadband network for Ukrainian state-run telco Ukrtelecom, covering nine regions of the country. In the first phase ECI has deployed its XDM optical platform at around 200 sites, enabling Ukrtelecom to meet increasing subscriber demand and offer next generation services including VoIP and IPTV. The ongoing project is designed to up the capacity of the incumbent’s metropolitan and regional multi-service transport networks and facilitate the expansion of its DSL services.
