Digiweb picks partners to roll out Dublin Optical Ethernet network

22 Feb 2007

Irish broadband ISP DigiWeb has selected three firms: Swedish Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM)-based optical solutions provider Transmode; North Carolina-based Overture Networks, a leading developer of converged packet access platforms; and Irish partner and integrator Next Generation Networks to help it deploy an advanced Ethernet over Optical network within its Dublin Metropolitan Area Network. Under the deal, Transmode and Overture Networks will supply the operator with an Ethernet over WDM backbone network and Ethernet over fibre/copper local access network to support rising demand for Digiweb’s business and residential services.
