TELUS to launch Rev A this year

Canadian cellco TELUS Mobility has announced that it will launch CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A services in selected areas ‘later this year’, and has lined up the Sierra Wireless AirCard 595 network card as its first Rev A-capable product. Once the Rev A network upgrade is implemented, TELUS’ EV-DO network will provide typical upload speeds of 300kbps to 400kbps, and typical download speeds of 450kbps to 800kbps. Device users on TELUS’ existing EV-DO network currently enjoy average download speeds of approximately 400kbps to 700kbps.
