Irish Broadband, which is owned by National Toll Roads (NTR) and Kilsaran Concrete Products, founders and management, yesterday reported having signed up 40,000 broadband customers, up from just 10,000 four months ago. In a statement, the company’s head of marketing Orla Carroll said: ‘A EUR25 million (USD32.3 million) expansion of our wireless network has doubled capacity. We are also continuing to invest in our customer services function to meet increasing customer numbers.’ In addition, Irish Broadband has launched a fixed line ADSL product for residential and business users, enabling it to offer high speed internet access to customers outside its wireless broadband network. Irish Broadband’s recent move into ADSL means we are now offering even more choice to Irish consumers and to a wider reach of customers than anyone else in Ireland’, Carroll said.
