CAT’s nationwide 1x rollout completed

Chinese technology provider Huawei Technologies says it has completed its CDMA2000 1x mobile network expansion for Thailand’s CAT Telecom, covering 51 provinces in addition to the 25 already served by Hutchison CAT Wireless service, CAT’s joint venture with Hong Kong-based Hutchison Telecom. Zuo Yongqian, Managing Director of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) said that reliability testing of the network was finished on 22 January, adding that the project had overcome many unexpected difficulties including unrest in southern Thailand, floods and lack of electricity.
