KPN announces reorganisation plan to improve customer focus

The Netherlands’ dominant telecoms group KPN Telecom has announced it is reorganising its business structure in an effort to improve its market position, revenues and profitability. Under the plan, the former monopoly will merge its fixed line and mobile units into new divisions called ‘Business Market’ and ‘Consumer Market’, in a bid to concentrate more on customers rather than technologies or products, it said in a statement. As a result of the restructuring, which took effect from 1 January, the telco’s other business groups in the Netherlands will be Wholesale & Operations, IT Netherlands and Corporate Center.
