18 Dec 2006

The insurance and banking conglomerate ING Group has signed a EUR750 million (USD980.6 million) deal with Royal KPN, Getronics, Accenture and Atos Origin, for outsourcing services in the Netherlands and Belgium. According to AFX News, the seven-year contract will see around 430 ING staff transferred to the group of suppliers providing workplace services such as the installation, maintenance and support of all desktops, laptops, printers and telephones. The outsourcing plan is part of a cost-drive announced by ING Group in 2005. KPN’s part of the deal is worth EUR269 million, in return for which it will be responsible for all fixed and mobile communication services, call centre services, LAN services and conferencing services to all ING employees in the Netherlands and Belgium, including end-user equipment and traffic arrangements.
