6 Dec 2006

Triple-T Broadband, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thai telco TT&T, has selected Alcatel-Lucent to provide broadband access infrastructure for the rollout of triple-play services in Bangkok and provinces. The operator is targeting 300,000 broadband subscribers by the end of 2006, and a total of 500,000 by the end of 2007. An IPTV service is set to be launched in 2007. It had around 130,000 broadband users at mid-2006. Alcatel-Lucent previously completed the installation of a core IP/MPLS network and WDM equipment to serve Triple-T’s nationwide triple-play and international internet gateway services.
