Digiweb to roll out 140km Dublin MAN

21 Nov 2006

Irish broadband service provider Digiweb has contracted euNetworks to build it a 140km fibre-optic Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) that will circle Dublin, writes online news portal siliconrepublic.com. The value of the deal has not been disclosed. The new ‘self-healing’ network will link Digiweb’s data hosting facility in Blanchardstown with all major data centres in Dublin as well as the main business parks, and the company says the new MAN will also interconnect with local telephone exchanges in Dublin to enable local loop unbundling (LLU).
