ATH reports USD21.3 million net profits in 1H 2006

9 Nov 2006

According to reports from The Fiji Times, Amalgamated Telecom Holdings (ATH), whose subsidiary operations include Telecom Fiji, Vodafone Fiji, Fiji Directories, Connect, Xceed Pasifika and Transtel, posted a net profit of USD21.3 million for its fiscal half-year ended 30 September 2006. In a press statement, ATH said the 1H profit was ‘interim and unaudited’. It added that consolidated net assets at the end of the period under review were USD236.1 million. Commenting on the results ATH’s secretary and corporate affairs executive, Tomasi Vakatora, said the increase in profit was the result of higher sales, driven by increased subscriber numbers for both mobile and fixed line operations.
