23 Oct 2006

Tele2 Croatia has announced that it is celebrating its first year of operations with more than 300,000 mobile users, reports local daily newspaper Vjesnik. Tele2, which launched commercial services over its GSM network in October 2005, has announced plans to cover 90% of the country’s population and introduce GPRS, MMS and 3G services by the end of the year, with a planned capital investment of EUR200 million (USD250 million). Tele2’s marketing director, Slavko Gazic, said Croatia’s introduction of mobile number portability on 1 October 2006 was contributing to the cellco’s customer growth.
