Digicel outlines investment plans

According to local daily Jamaica Observer, quoted by BNamericas, Caribbean mobile operator Digicel plans to invest a further USD100 million in Jamaica this year. The spending has been earmarked for upgrading switches, WiMAX, network facilities, training programmes and retail stores, and will push total investment in the island to USD600 million since Digicel entered the market in 2001.
