Ireland’s telecoms regulator the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) has issued Hutchison 3G Ireland with a temporary permit to begin testing DVB-H (digital video broadcast over handheld) services. According to Siliconrepublic.com, the licence takes effect immediately and runs for one year, and will allow Hutchison to explore the possibility of broadcasting TV services direct to mobile phones.
