eircom cuts broadband prices by 25%

Irish incumbent eircom yesterday announced plans to slash 25% off the cost of broadband services for more than 300,000 of its high speed internet access customers. Under the new price plans, a customer with a 1MB Home Starter package will save EUR5 a month, when the price is cut from EUR29.99 to EUR24.99 a month from 2 October. The online news portal SiliconRepublic.com added that the cost of the operator’s Home Plus plan had been cut by EUR10 per month to EUR29.99, while users of its 3MB Home Pro service would benefit from a saving of EUR6.05, down to EUR48.40. eircom also revealed that a further 10,000 households, previously without broadband coverage, had been upgraded to receive high speed internet services.
