Mytel to deploy northern Pakistan WiMAX network

17 Aug 2006

Pakistani wireless in the local loop (WiLL) operator Mytel has revealed plans to deploy what it says is the first WiMAX network in northern Pakistan. The network, which utilises Redline’s RedMAX products, will initially deliver advanced voice and broadband services in the city of Peshawar, before being extended to an additional thirteen regions in northern Pakistan, subject to demand. Mytel hopes the network will improve the delivery of voice and broadband services to its existing customers and extend its network to reach more businesses, residents and municipal organisations.
