Mobile subs near 26 million

There were 25.9 million mobile subscribers in Argentina at the end of June 2006, up 48.5% year-on-year, with mobile traffic up 28.3% over the same period, according to the country’s statistics institute Indec. In the fixed line market, the number of lines in service rose 1.7% to 8.96 million. Local telephony traffic was up 2.3%, domestic long-distance up 22.7% and international telephony minutes rose 9.1%.
