BTC fined for ADSL abuse

26 Jul 2006

Bulgaria’s Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has imposed a BGL200,000 (USD130,000) fine on the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) for failing to act on a previous CPC decision. In 2005 the CPC ruled that BTC should give internet providers access to its ADSL network, Darik Radio reported. A recent inspection revealed that BTC was still only permitting rivals to resell services, rather than being leased wholesale lines.
