PLDT chairman hints at strong second quarter performance

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) chairman Manuel Pangilinan has revealed that second quarter net income for the telco will be higher than the corresponding figure of PHP8.0 billion (USD153.8 million) in the second quarter of last year, and higher than the PHP8.6 billion in Q1 2006. PLDT is expected to release its 2Q results on 8 August.
