True gives consumers TV and mobile bundle

14 Jul 2006

True Corp yesterday launched a new bundled offer including pay-TV and mobile phone services. Under the new Truelife Plus tariff plan, the Thai telco’s subscribers have the option of paying THB300 (USD7.9) per month for a basic selection of channels from UBC True and mobile services provided by its GSM arm True Move. True Corp consolidated pay-TV operator UBC last year in a deal worth more than THB300 million, aiming to cash in on convergence trends. The company is hoping to sign up around 100,000 Truelife Plus customers after the initial launch by targeting users of rival mobile networks with the promise of ‘free’ UBC access – the True Move mobile plan offered would cost THB300 a month by itself.
